Troubleshooting
Fast checks for pairing, tracking, recording, export, cloud, and live-stream problems.
Before restarting anything
Identify the stage that fails and note the exact message: finding the mount, connecting, following a subject, starting a recording, exporting, or saving to Photos. Use the matching section below first. If you already tried a check, note the result instead of repeating it. Do not close the app or restart either device during a recording or firmware update.
Save what is open
Stop recording or editing normally if the app still responds.
Check power and storage
Charge both devices and free iPhone space if it is low.
Close and reopen Trackd
Return to the same action and try once more.
Restart the mount
Turn it off and on, then wait for Connected.
Check for updates
Use current Trackd and iOS releases offered to your device.
The mount will not connect
Move closer
Put the iPhone beside the powered mount.
Check Bluetooth permission
In iPhone Settings, allow Bluetooth for Trackd.
Avoid the wrong mount
Turn off other nearby Trackd mounts during pairing.
Restart both
Restart the mount and Trackd, then pair again.
Setup fails after the mount's small test movement
If the app shows Connected, the mount makes a small movement after recording setup, and you see Mount Check Failed or a prompt to retry or review setup, first check whether the iPhone running the recording is firmly attached to the mount. This is a movement check: Trackd uses the recording iPhone's motion sensors to verify that it moves with the mount and returns. Solo Lock checks tilt (up and down); standard Group Sports checks pan (side to side). Connected confirms the connection, not this physical check.
Fit the recording iPhone before trying again
If the phone was in your hand, on a table, or beside the mount, lower the tripod and secure it in the mount's clamp. The motor can move normally while a separate phone senses none of that movement. Retrying with the phone still off the mount will not correct the setup.
Let the mount move the phone
Keep the tripod stable, clear cables and objects from the movement path, and take your hands off the phone and mount during the check. Do not hold the phone still, push the motor, or move the phone by hand to imitate the test.
Retry once after correcting the setup
Use Retry Mount Check if shown, or the retry option in your app version. Let the small movement and return finish. If the check passes, continue the normal recording flow. Do not keep pressing Retry without changing anything.
Tracking follows the wrong thing
Check the mode
Use Solo Lock for one person and Group Sports for the active group.
Check the setup pill
Correct the start method, sport, distance, and mount position.
Improve the view
Clean the lens, remove obstructions, reduce strong backlight, and start wider.
Set up again
For Solo Lock, unlock and choose the person again. For Group Sports, repeat centre aim and far-end direction.
Recording stopped or is missing
Open the library
Trackd may have saved the session after an interruption.
Check free space
Remove only files you have safely copied elsewhere.
Cool the phone
Move it out of direct sun and wait before another long recording.
Make a short test
Confirm camera and microphone permissions, then record 10 seconds.
Export, cloud, or live is not finishing
| Problem | Try |
|---|---|
| Export stalls or fails | Keep Trackd open, free phone space, cool the iPhone, and try again. |
| Backup pauses | Use steady Wi-Fi and power; leave the session until Backed up appears. |
| Share link is not ready | Wait for backup to finish, then create or copy the link again. |
| Live viewers see nothing | Confirm the timer is running, status says Live, and the viewer link opens on another connection. |
| A feature is missing | Check the selected mode and setup. Availability can differ by app version, account, sport, or device. |
