To livestream a basketball game you need four things: a camera position at halfway, a reliable upload connection at that exact spot, power for the whole game, and a way to share the stream. With Trackd, the iPhone on the mount is the camera. Choose Basketball Broadcast View, calibrate both hoops and the four court corners, pick Live without scoreboard or Live with scoreboard, and share the private viewer link.
What you need
- An iPhone 12 or later on iOS 17.6 or later, on a Trackd mount.
- A 183 cm tripod for Broadcast View. The 170 cm Complete Kit tripod is for standard setups and doesn't match the Broadcast calibration height.
- A second iPhone or iPad if you want to run the live scoreboard.
- A strong, steady internet connection at the tripod position.
- Power for the recording phone for the whole game.
- Permission from the venue and competition, and participants who know the game is being shared live.
Step by step with Broadcast View
Test the internet where the tripod will stand
Gym Wi-Fi is often shared with everyone in the stands. Test the actual spot, and have a fallback plan if the signal is weak.
Set up at halfway
Build the 183 cm tripod beside the side line at halfway, attach the mount and iPhone before raising it, and use landscape orientation.
Choose Broadcast View
Open Record → Group Sports → Basketball → Broadcast View.
