Futsal cameras need three things that outdoor soccer setups don't: shorter pitch framing, indoor-lighting handling, and tracking fast enough for relentless end-to-end transitions. Trackd does all three — the motorised pan-tilt mount runs at 30 to 50 Hz so it keeps up with the pace, the iPhone's sensor handles indoor venue lighting, and the framing presets include a dedicated indoor option. US$199 hardware, no subscription.
Why futsal needs a different setup than 11v11 soccer
- Pitch is roughly 40m × 20m vs 100m × 60m for outdoor soccer — much shorter end-to-end distance.
- Play is faster and more constant — fewer dead-ball pauses, more rapid transitions.
- Indoor lighting is variable and often warmer than daylight.
- Ceiling clearance matters — you can't mount as high as outdoors.
- Sound is louder and contained — useful for context, less useful for understanding crowd reaction.
Practical setup
Indoor futsal record setup
Find a sideline mount position
Halfway along the long side. Tripod 2.5 metres high — most futsal venues allow this clearance.
Mount Trackd, plug iPhone in
Indoor venues sometimes have power available — bring a USB-C charger as backup.
Pick Indoor / Futsal preset
Wider framing than outdoor soccer; tighter than a 5v5 outdoor pitch. The preset is designed for the indoor field-of-view.
