Trackd App v2.0 is the biggest update we've shipped since launch. The headline features are the AI Editing Suite and Smart Zoom, but the release also touches the live-stream stack, ball detection model, and the way the mount communicates with your phone. Here's what's new and how to use it on game day.
AI Editing Suite
After every match, the app now scans your footage and proposes a highlight cut. The model is trained to spot the moments coaches and players actually want to watch back, not just goals.
- Goals, assists, and key saves
- Shots on target and shots off the woodwork
- Breakaways, fast counters, and successful 1v1s
- Set pieces that lead to a chance within 10 seconds
- Major defensive moments — last-man tackles, blocks, and clearances
Each clip is tagged with the in-game time, the moment type, and a confidence score. You can keep the auto cut, swap clips in or out, or trim individual moments before exporting. The whole flow is built to take less than two minutes for a 90-minute match.
Smart Zoom
Earlier versions kept the frame fairly wide so you wouldn't lose the action. v2.0 introduces Smart Zoom — the framing tightens automatically when the ball is in a settled phase of play and pulls back instantly the moment a counter starts. You get the closer, more cinematic look without sacrificing the off-ball runs that matter for tactical review.
Better ball detection
The new detection model was trained on roughly 4x more grassroots footage than v1, with a heavy emphasis on the conditions where tracking used to drift: low evening light, mixed kits, crowded midfields, and games where the ball spends a lot of time off the ground. In our internal testing the new model holds lock through transition play noticeably longer, and recovers faster after a deflection or a goalkeeper claim.
Workflow improvements
- Live-stream reconnects automatically if your phone drops Wi-Fi mid-match
- Clip export is roughly 30% faster on iPhone 14 and newer
- Remote mount controls now respond in under a second over Bluetooth
- A new pre-match checklist walks you through mount level, framing, and storage in about 90 seconds
v2.0 is rolling out now on the App Store. If you're already on v1.x, the update is free — just open the app, accept the new permissions prompt for AI editing, and you're set.
